Mesofaden Lifting
A minimally invasive thread lifting procedure designed to tighten, lift, and revitalize the skin by stimulating natural collagen production.
What is Mesothread Lifting?
Mesothread lifting, also known as thread lifting, is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure that improves skin firmness and elasticity by activating the body’s natural regeneration processes. Absorbable threads are gently placed into the skin to create an immediate tightening effect while supporting long-term skin rejuvenation.
Benefits and Treatment Areas
This non-surgical procedure delivers a visible lifting effect with minimal discomfort, no downtime, and a low risk of inflammation. In addition to tightening, mesothread lifting improves skin quality by stimulating new connective tissue formation.
The treatment is suitable for the face and body, including the cheeks, jawline, neck, décolleté, eye area, forehead, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, arms, abdomen, and other areas with reduced skin firmness.
Threads: Material and Effect in the Skin
Mesothreads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), a biocompatible and fully absorbable material that has been safely used in surgical medicine for decades. Depending on the treatment area, the threads may be smooth, spiral-shaped, or equipped with fine barbs that help anchor and support the tissue.
Once inserted, the threads stimulate fibroblasts and activate collagen production. This process improves skin density and elasticity and continues even after the threads dissolve, which usually occurs within several months. The lifting and revitalizing effect can last up to 18–24 months.
How the Treatment is Performed
Before the procedure, facial or body contours are carefully analyzed and the treatment zones are precisely marked. A local anesthetic cream is applied to ensure comfort. The skin is then disinfected, and the threads are inserted through fine needles at selected points. After placement, the needle is removed while the thread remains anchored in the tissue, providing immediate support and tightening.
Contraindications, Risks, and Aftercare
Mesothread lifting is not recommended in cases of active infections, inflammation, cancer, blood clotting disorders, autoimmune diseases, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Temporary side effects may include mild swelling, redness, bruising, or a burning sensation, which usually subside within a few days.
For optimal results, patients are advised to avoid intensive facial movements, massages, sauna visits, and intense physical activity for several weeks after the treatment.
